Abode @ 219 is located directly across the Street from the Hillcrest Shopping Centre and only about 650 meters from the Herold street gate of the University. We chose this location above Hatfield as we know that it has some distinct advantages.
In the design of this building we have incorporated all the ideas that we tested successfully at our other buildings over the last 20 years. This resulted in a building comprising 47 modern Studios, located on three floors with parking in the basement. There are lounges and study areas on each of the floors as well as a recreational area on the top floor. There is also a coin operated laundry on the top floor.
The building was designed as a “Green” building with energy savings in mind. As far as electricity is concerned, care has been taken on all energy saving features like low energy lighting and heat pumps for heating the water etc. As far as water saving is concerned this has also been attended to by providing continuous hot water circulation and water saving shower heads. We have also provided for back-up electricity in case of power failures, so that your studies can proceed unhindered.
